Teaching Reference
Posted by: Jessica Moyer

This summer I am teaching the required course in reference and information services for the MLIS program at St Catherine’s University in St. Paul, MN. For most of the students this is the second or third class and many are still unsure what kind of library work they want to do after graduation.

Over the next several weeks I will be posting about some of the activities we have been doing, their experiences answering questions for homework assignments, and some thoughts on the theme for the class: Is print reference dead? All my students will be writing essays on this question as their final project and hopefully I’ll be able to share some of their thoughts on this important issue to reference services.
