Your Essential Reference
Posted by: Rebecca Vnuk

Have you responded yet to our survey about your essential reference titles? These are the print titles that you have kept–or would keep–in the reference collection, even after radically scaling it back.

If you haven’t started the shift away from print reference, there are two articles that can get you started. ”Right-Sizing the Reference Collection” by Rose M. Frase and Barbara Salit-Mischel was published in the January/February 2007 of Public Libraries; and “Facts Go Online: Are Print Reference Collections Still Relevant?” by David Tyckoson was published in the September, 2004 issue of Against the Grain.
