Web Site of the Week: FIFA.com

World Cup soccer began last Friday and interest is high in my area since the Soccer Hall of Fame was located in Oneonta NY until it closed because of financial constraints in February 2010. So to keep up-to-date on the World Cup, I check FIFA.com. FIFA is the acronym for Federation Internationale de Football Association which is the Italian for International Federation of Soccer Association. The web site will keep all fans current on what is happening in South Africa at the games. There are the latest scores, interviews with players and a “Have your say” feature where fans may comment on questions such as “Is Germany the team to beat?” A detailed section on players allows you to search by team, position or age. There are exactly one hundred players that are over 30 and eight that are under 20. Enjoy this world event that happens only every four years!

Another great way to keep up on the games, if you have a google account, is to download the Google Football Gadget to your iGoogle home page. Or get the RUWT?! toolbar for Firefox.
And, based on the early games, Germany is definitely looking like the team to beat! (Until we see Spain and Brazil play, anyway.)
