If you are tired of the eruptions coming from political sources, check out this wonderful resource from the Smithsonian. Volcanoes of the World http://www.volcano.si.edu/world/ is full of photographs, videos, and information about volcanoes. The site allows users to search for volcanoes by region, name or eruption date. It also has a comprehensive list of volcano names, maps, educational resources, and frequently asked questions. Data are from the U.S. Geological service and the Smithsonian’s Global Volcanism Program. This site has something for everyone from students with science projects to curious tourists, to scientists.
