Global Open Access Portal

For researchers in many fields, especially the sciences, access to the latest information is crucial. Open access makes it easier. UNESCO has set up a site at http://www.unesco.org/new/en/communication-and-information/portals-and-platforms/goap that offers information on the state of open access worldwide. The website is sponsored by the governments of Colombia, Denmark, Norway, and the United States Department of State. It provides the latest information on access by region, funding mandates, intergovernmental programs, current news, culture, and key organizations. This will be very useful for librarians working on open access programs. They can find partners and support, financial and otherwise.
